good spirits

Raise your glasses, my friends, and toast the latest wine! This is our family's holiday wine for 2007. Like the label? It was designed by one of my very good friends, she's really got a gift.

Naughty or Ice, 2007, Private Reserve

See, now don't you wish you were on my Christmas list? Even if you don't get a knitted gift this year, you'd still get this rich dessert ice wine, with a hint of cranberry. Fa-la-la-la-la!

The edging is done on August and I am sewing on the star points. Pictures of the completed project should be available soon.

Mmmmm! I DO wish I was on your Christmas list :) How hard is it to make wine? My dh has expressed an interest before, but I have no idea how you even start something like that.

Funny you mention Dagny... I suggested it to Daddy-B... the conversation went like this...
Me: So, what do you think of Dagny Ellen?
Him: No. Wait. What did you say?
Me: Dagny Ellen.
Him: No.
Me: What did you THINK I said?
Him: I thought you said Daphne Ellen.
Me: Do you like Daph...
Him: No.

*sigh*

Wine-making is pretty easy, once you get the supplies. The upfront cost is kinda steep (like $150 or so) but then all you need is grape concentrate, bottles, and corks - the other extras, like labels and caps, are nice but not neccessary. So the bottled wine, which would sell in store for easily $40 each, costs you like $5 each. It's great.
