economic downturn

So the lousy economy has finally struck los CdF. Laid off. Oh, what a crummy way to start a Tuesday. Or any other day, for that matter.

My biggest concern in this whole mess is lil' b's school. He loves it there. Like, a lot. Like, more than most people like anything. The kind of love that makes him wake up in the morning with a smile on his face as he announces "Mama , I awake now, go to school!" Of course, with my being home (until I find full-time employment again), and our newly one income household, it doesn't make a lick of sense to keep paying for daycare. And yet, and yet...

This morning, my first ever as a member of the unemployed, I helped get lil' b ready for what we presume will be his last day of school for an indefinite time. "School! School!" he yells, running around the room, listing off his favorite teachers and friends by name. Then he looks up at me with those gorgeous pure blue eyes, and says "Mommy go work now? I go school?" *sigh* I wish I were going to work. Instead I'm fastened to my laptop by the fingertips, searching like a mad woman for a job that will let him stay in his beloved school.

So if anyone out there has any need for a copywriter (freelance or otherwise), drop me a line. I need to get this kid back at school.

Ugh... ((hugs)) I know that look from your little ones...

To keep him in school for a bit, perhaps you can work some sort of barter out...do they have any part time openings to help out?

I wish I was as talented as you! Maybe you can sell some of your stuff...or lessons. I don't know. The above is not advice. I just love the things you make. I need to read more. For all I know, you may have found a new job two posts above this one. Going to catch up now. Don't hate me for the stream of consciousness writing here. xoxo
